September 16, 2021 The new limits and the test cycles for LSI special motor vehicles has been promulgated by the Announcement of the Ministry of the Environment, which was published in Gazette of Japan published on August 8, 2021. The modification has been effective from this date but for the actual process of the certification, inspection and their related issue, which will be made by the separate amendment of the existing rules by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure. Transport and Tourism, is necessary. For details, refer the paragraph on "Current regulation for Special vehicles engines fueled by gasoline or LPG"

November 13, 2019 Description on the absortion coefficient for Special vehicles engines fuelled by diesel-oil and on the applicable engine power range of Special vehicles engines fuelled by gasoline or LPG have been corrected.

April 11, 2018 LEMA has decided to amend the voluntary regulation for SI engine below 19kW, by repealing the interlim HC+NOX limits 13.1 g/kWh for engines less than 140 cc swept volume on December 31, 2019 and to introduce HC+NOX limit of 10.0 g.kWh from January 1, 2020.For details, please refer the page on “Voluntary emission regulations for non-road engines by LEMA”
